In God We Trust

Nov 18 2011

How much do we really trust God?  In all circumstances, or only some?  What does it mean to trust Him?  Is it just trusting that I’ll be forgiven and have a home in heaven someday?  Do I need to wait until I die to see my trust bear fruit?  No, I want it to mean something now!  So often we think trust exists only as a mental discipline.  But it’s really a discipline of the heart…and one that affects ALL the aspects of our life.  Trusting God with our families, our finances, and our jobs.  Trusting Him when we can’t see what’s around the corner.  Trusting Him when our impulses want to retreat in fear.  You know, fear might be one of the best gauges for how much we truly trust.  For fear seeks to cripple us and bind our feet together.  But its trust that restores our soul!  I am tired of viewing trust as merely “heavenly insurance” or a “death benefit”.  Trusting God isn’t limited to what happens when we die.  Trusting God is about what is happening while we live!    -PR
