When is the last time you sat down with the Lord? I wonder sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of life, if people even know they can sit down with the Lord and experience His presence. I know, there are times we all forget. But lately, with the turns life has taken, the highlight of my day is no longer a game on tv, or special trip to the mall. Its sitting with the Lord and telling Him when and why I am happy, or anxious, or afraid. Something amazing happens in those moments of quiet vulnerability. I can feel the Holy Spirit minister to me. The more vulnerable I pour out to Him, the more of His presence I feel.
The verb “to minister” means to give help in need. And that is exactly what the Lord does when we are real with Him. Today, let us not enter prayer with merely our checklists. Let us enter with our souls laid bare. You may be surprised that He is really there!
