We will be changed indeed! |
| Sep 08 2011 |
Psalm 8:5 says that God made man a little lower than the heavenly beings (angels in the King James). But then in 1 Corinthians 6:3 Paul writes, “Do you not know that we will judge angels?” Clearly something miraculous…something transformative…happens to us as we enter into heaven. Scripture tells us that in the twinkling of an eye we will all be changed, and will bear the image of the heavenly. Do you ever wonder what that change looks like? What it will feel like? How do we get a glimpse of this mystery?
Look to Christ and you will find the answer! He is our destiny! To be conformed to His likeness. To live in His glory. Oh how wonderful it will be to be wrapped in Him…to shine like the Son! To finally watch the old disappear and the new be formed before our very eyes. Away with the life of sin. Away you demons of the past. Away with pain and longsuffering. We will breathe the breath of life anew.
But until then…this I pray: Lord, form me now as you desire. Transform my life here and now. Bring me from sin and darkness into light, that I might shine your grace to others. Let me taste what is to come! For in this, my life here has meaning.
1John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
